Sets the number of cylinders and
engine type.
Press the setting switch to the right
and hold to increase the cylinder/
stroke number.
Press the setting switch to the left
and hold to decrease the cylinder/
stroke number.
Displays self-test, number of cylin-
ders, engine type, engine speed
and signal strength.
3-step adjustment of the sensitivity
of the speed sensor.
Operation of this key stops the
current speed measurement and
starts a new measurement.
Flashes to indicate that an engine
speed signal is being received.
A fast flashing rate (approx.
10 times per second) indicates
that the engine speed signal is
strong enough.
A slow flashing rate indicates that
the engine speed signal is too
weak.

3.5 Installation

If the module is used in conjunction with engine diagnostic
systems, the engine-speed measuring module (1) and the retai-
ning bracket (17) can be secured at a suitable place on the engine
diagnostic system using Velcro-type fasteners (connection
sockets facing down).
! When installing the engine-speed measuring module, you
must observe that the holding surfaces are fat free and oil
free for the velcro strips.
